silly gets serious

As a postscript to my true characters post, here's an example of a side-project turning into a real one.
My client & friend, Nadeeka, over at Naha Tea loved the birthday card I did for her so much that she asked me to consider using it as a promotional postcard. I modified it slightly by adding her alter-ego – the Naha peacock – and tea packaging to complete her portrait and my first published illustration ;-) She just dropped off a few samples with a note that, simpy put, made my day.
